Glitch Goggles - Sunglasses that block TVs

See the world. Not the screens.

Glitch Goggles are sunglasses engineered to do something wonderfully unnecessary: make many TVs and LCD screens appear dark or completely black while leaving the rest of the world visible.

They use vertically oriented polarized lenses to interfere with the polarized light produced by many LCD displays. Put them on, look around normally, then glance at a compatible TV or monitor and watch the screen disappear.

No batteries. No electronics. No app. Just optics being weird.

What They Do

Glitch Goggles can dramatically darken or completely block the image from many:

• LCD televisions

• Computer monitors

• Restaurant and bar TVs

• Airport and waiting-room displays

• Digital signage

• Other polarization-based screens

They do not block every screen. Display technology and polarization orientation vary, and most phones are intentionally designed to remain visible from multiple angles.

That's part of the experiment.

Actual Sunglasses, Too

Glitch Goggles aren't just a novelty filter. They're built to function as real sunglasses when you're not confusing nearby television sets.

Why Do These Exist?

Because screens are everywhere.

Glitch Goggles started as a simple question:

Could you make sunglasses that selectively remove screens from your field of view?

Turns out, sometimes you can.

The result is part optical experiment, part functional sunglasses, and part tiny act of rebellion against every television silently demanding your attention.

Important Compatibility Note

Glitch Goggles work through polarization, not magic. Different display technologies behave differently, so results vary.

Some screens will turn completely black.
Some will become dramatically darker.
Some won't care about your fancy glasses at all.

OLED displays and many mobile devices generally aren't affected in the same way.

Honestly, we think that's half the fun.
